Inland Empire gas price drops for third time in four days

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped a half-cent Thursday to $3, the third decrease in four days after rising 39 times in 40 days.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped seven-tenths of a cent over the past four days after rising 20.7 cents during the stretch of increases that pushed it to its highest amount since Jan. 11,
2016, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 8.8 cents more than one month ago and 32.2 cents higher than one year ago.
