Sheriff’s department locates missing 80-year-old man

Update: Riverside County sheriff’s deputies said 80-year-old Daniel Ahern was found around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Deputies said they would like to thank the public for its assistance.

Previous coverage: Riverside County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in finding a Palm Desert man.

Daniel Ahern, 80, was last seen on the 200 block of Tolosa Circle in Palm Desert around 7 p.m. Friday. Ahern stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs approximately 175 pounds, has white hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white and blue striped golf shirt with dark shorts. According to Ahern’s family he suffers from Alzheimer’s and does not drive.

Anyone with information regarding Daniel Ahern’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
