Man taken to hospital after 3-car crash in Thousand Palms

Emergency crews were called to a crash in Thousand Palm Tuesday afternoon on Varner Road. It involved three vehicles and one man was sent to the hospital with significant injuries after being extracted from his vehicle.

The crash happened near the intersection of Varner Road and Ramon Road, just after 4 p.m.

The other two drivers only sustained minor injuries in the crash but refused treatment, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The crash caused some traffic congestion at the intersection of Varner Road and Ramon Road, but the scene is clear now and traffic is flowing smoothly.
