Tamarisk tree fire contained in Indio

UPDATE 8:40 a.m.: The fire is out. Caltrans has bulldozed the area as part of the mop up.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Cal Fire is on scene of a brush fire in Indio, where a group of tamarisk trees are on fire.

This is on the eastbound 10 Freeway just past Golf Center Parkway.

Traffic is not affected.
