Missing girl found safe following AMBER Alert

The missing 1-year-old girl Lexi Segura has been found safe following an AMBER Alert issued out of Rancho Cucamunga Monday.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, detectives were searching the area of Holt Boulevard and Monte Vista Avenue in Montclair when they saw a grey Chevy Malibu with a driver matching the description of the suspect; Lexi’s father, 38-year-old Daniel Segura.

Deputies stopped the suspect and Segura was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for child abduction. Authorities found a handgun on him at the time of the arrest.

Lexi was found in the vehicle and is in good condition, according to the sheriff’s department. She’s being reunited with her mother at this time.

The AMBER Alert was triggered after Lexi was abducted by her father at about 5:40 p.m. from a Rancho Cucamonga home in the 9500 block of Edelweiss Street. He had been seen driving a red Mitsubishi Galant when the AMBER Alert was first issued.

The California Highway Patrol assisted with the search for the missing girl.
