Buyers who could get a place in the online queue were able to snag up to two passes for each weekend, slated for April 13-15 and April 20-22 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio.
Customers either paid in full for a $429 general admission pass or seven monthly payments of just over $61. The price is $30 more than in previous years, but that didn’t stop festival fans from snatching up passes in short order.
Tickets were available starting at 11 a.m. at www.coachella.com, but by 12:45 p.m., weekend 1 passes were sold out, and the entire sale wrapped up at about 2:30 p.m.
More passes will be made available at a later time, plus the annual locals-only sale for Coachella Valley residents, which occurs shortly before each festival weekend.
The lineup for next year’s festival has not been announced, though Beyonce is expected to be among the performers. She pulled out of a 2017 Coachella headlining spot at the last minute, announcing that she was pregnant with twins, and was http://www.kesq.com/news/music-festivals/billboard-lady-gaga-to-fill-beyonces-role-at-coachell-fest-2017/366645101.
