Thermal tire shop fire causes major damage
Cal Fire crews contained a blaze at a tire shop in Thermal early Wednesday morning at the intersection of Harrison Street and Airport Boulevard.
The fire occurred near the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport.

Crews said the fire was reported at 1:44 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find a 1,200 square foot single story commercial structure on fire, along with an estimated 100 tires next to the building.
Crews believe the fire started at the tires before spreading to the building.
