Small earthquake hits Riverside County

A small earthquake hit Riverside County Friday, the U.S.Geological Survey reported.

The quake struck at 2:24 a.m. with a magnitude of 3.2 at a depth of 8 miles, its epicenter 6 miles north-northwest of Anza and 17 miles southwest of Palm Springs. But the earthquake was downgraded to a 2.7 magnitude shortly after it was reported by the USGS.

There were no reports of injuries.
