Rodriguez is survived by his wife and his five-year-old child. His family had started a Go Fund Me account to help raise money for his funeral expenses but closed it after the landscaping company offered to cover the cost.

The Palm Springs Police Department was called to the deadly collision in the 2100 block of Casitas Way at 1:35 p.m. last week.

Reporter Carlos Trejo learned Rodriguez was originally from El Salvador but he was raised in Palm Springs. He has three older brothers and an older sister.

Rodriguez’s family has tentatively planned a Friday morning service and burial in Cathedral City, according to the Go Fund Me account.
