Bomb squad determines suspicous package found at PSPD was just a child’s toy
The bomb squad has determined that a suspicious package found in front of the lobby at the Palm Springs Police Department Wednesday morning was just a child’s toy. Now officers are working to find out why the toy was left in front of the police department.
Officers evacuated the police station Wednesday after the toy was found at about 10:15 a.m. Police were also warning residents nearby to avoid the area out of extreme caution, although they didn’t believe the suspicious package was of any great concern, according to Sgt. William Hutchinson.

The police department is located at 200 S Civic Drive. Officers said the child’s toy was left near the entrance to the police station’s main lobby.

Alexandra Pierce was reporting live from the police station while the bomb squad and a Hazmat team was looking into the package. Officers gave the all clear at about 1:15 p.m. Officers thanked the community for being patient and cooperating during the incident.
The Palm Springs Police Department is back to normal operations Wednesday afternoon.
