Daniella Lake

Daniella Lake joined KESQ News Channel 3 as a reporter and anchor in October 2025. Lake grew up in Los Angeles and is a proud first-generation Sierra Leonean American. Her passion for storytelling started when she was 15-years-old and started her own podcast, Life Told By a Stranger. She fell in love with telling the stories of people from all walks of life. She attended UC Berkeley for her bachelor's degree in media studies, where she co-developed the campus' first ever Black history audio tour of campus, sharing the untold stories of the Black campus community from the past 100 years. After graduating in 2024, she attended USC for her master's of science in journalism, where she received the award for outstanding journalism master's student. During her time as a college and grad student, she was featured on ABC7 News and Spectrum News 1 SoCal.

Her reporting has been seen in publications such as Rolling Stone and Fast Companyearning her a nomination for a SoCal Journalism Award in 2025. Her work has also appeared on the radio for KCRW 89.9 FM, an NPR affiliate in Los Angeles. 

In her free time, she enjoys hula dancing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. She's excited to explore the Coachella Valley and tell your stories.
