LOS ANGELES (KESQ) - Actor Dennis Haskins, best known for playing Principal Richard Belding on "Saved by the Bell,'' died from Parkinson's disease, according to a report today citing his death certificate.

Haskins died Sept. 27 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. He was 75.

The death certificate, obtained by TMZ, lists Parkinson's disease as the cause of death. Other significant conditions listed on the document include irritable bowel syndrome, depression, hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Haskins had privately battled Parkinson's disease for about eight years, according to friends and his former wife, Sarah Quinones.

Haskins first played Richard Belding on the 1988-89 Disney Channel teen comedy "Good Morning, Miss Bliss.'' He was the lone adult actor to remain with the Saturday morning teen comedy when it was retooled by NBC and retitled "Saved by the Bell.''

"Saved by the Bell'' ran from 1989-93. A prime-time spinoff, "Saved by the Bell: The College Years,'' ran from 1993-94. Haskins remained with the Saturday morning spinoff "Saved by the Bell: The New Class,'' which ran from 1993-2000.

Haskins was born Nov. 18, 1950, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he reported for the student newspaper, acted in the Drama Club and Harlequins and served as entertainment chairman of the Student Government Association.

His pre-"Saved by the Bell'' television credits included "Archie Bunker's Place,'' "Simon & Simon,'' "Knots Landing,'' "The Dukes of Hazzard'' and "Magnum, P.I.'' His later credits included "The West Wing,'' "Mad Men'' and "How I Met Your Mother."

Haskins is survived by his son, Dustin.
