Specialized urologic care now available in the Coachella Valley

For patients in the Coachella Valley seeking specialized urologic care, traveling outside the desert may no longer be necessary.
During this week’s Living Healthy segment, News Channel 3 spoke with local physician Dr. Pedram Ilbeigi, who says advances in local medical care are giving patients access to a wider range of urologic services closer to home.
Through the Palm Valley Urologic Institute, Dr. Ilbeigi says his team has brought together specialists and advanced technology designed to address nearly every area of adult urology — from diagnosis through treatment.
“Except for pediatrics, we can cover every angle of urology,” Ilbeigi said, explaining that patients can receive care ranging from routine evaluations to highly advanced procedures without having to travel hours to another medical center.
Urologic conditions can affect people of all ages, and some symptoms are easy to dismiss as a normal part of getting older.
Dr. Ilbeigi says common warning signs that deserve medical attention include:
- Getting up two or more times a night to urinate
- Frequent urinary tract infections
- Blood in the urine
- Changes in urinary habits or difficulty urinating
These symptoms can have a variety of causes, ranging from relatively common conditions to problems that require prompt evaluation.
