Possible Body Found At PGA West

A day of golfing for some golfers in La Quinta turned into a gruesome discovery as a man’s body was found at the nearby All-American Canal.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies, several golfers reported to find the body floating in the canal at the Arnold Palmer course at PGA West around 10 AM Wednesday.

Authorities pulled the body out of the canal and now are trying to find out how the man got into the water.

Initial reports say the man’s death was accidental and no foul play was involved.

People familiar with thecanal say many have gone to the canal to cool off or retrieve lost golf balls.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the man slipped, fell into the canal, hit his head, and drowned.

People living in the area say they are suspicious of the circumstances surrounding the death.

“Why would he be traveling in that water?” asks one resident. “He should know all of that would cause him bodily harm?”

Authorities are still looking into the circumstances including whether he lived or was a member at PGA West

Deputies are also reminding people that swimming in the canal is against the law.
