Severe Storm, Flash Flood Warnings For Valley

Severe thunderstorm andflash flood warnings are ineffect forthe Coachella Valley and the surrounding areas, the National Weather Service said Tuesday afternoon.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Indio and other area including but not limited to Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, and Coachella.

That warning goes into effect until4:30 PM Tuesday afternoon.

Asevere thunderstorm warning issued earlier Tuesday afternoon for the areas near Santa Rosa Mountain and portions of Highway 74 expired at 3:30 PM.

Forecasters said heavy rainfall overthe mountain will produce heavy runoff that could threaten valley cities.
