High School Drowning

WE HAVE CONTINUING COVERAGE ON THE SHOCKING DEATH OF A LA QUINTA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT. 14-YEAR OLD CESAR URENA DIEDFRIDAYAFTER CLASSMATES FOUND HIM AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCHOOL’S SWIMMING POOL. LA QUINTA HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL DONNA SALAZAR COMFORTED STUDENTS SATURDAY OVER THEUNEXPECTED DEATH. POLICE SAY ON FRIDAY, AROUND 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON… 14-YEAR-OLD CESAR URENA WAS FOUND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL AT THE END OF GYM CLASS. PRINCIPAL SALAZAR SAYS URENA WAS IMMEDIATELY PULLED OUT OF THE WATER AND GIVEN CPR. URENA WAS RUSHED TO A HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS LATER PRONOUNCED DEAD….INVESTIGATORS SAY IT’S UNCLEAR HOW LONG URENA WAS UNDERWATER. THEY DON’T SUSPECT ANY FOUL PLAY…. PRINCIPAL SALAZARSAYS….GRIEF COUNSELORS WILL BE ON HAND MONDAY TO TALK TO STUDENTS.
