Riverside D.A. Ad Threat Suspect In Court

A former newspaper worker accused in connection of running a threatening ad against the Riverside County District Attorney is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.

Chandler William Caldwell of Perris is accused of making criminal threats against D.A. Rod Pacheco.

Prosecutors say Caldwell, who was working for the Riverside-based Press-Enterprise, placed an ad for a yard sale. That ad said proceeds from the sale would go to the “Rod Pacheco Memorial Fund.”

The ad listed the D.A.’s home address and cell phone number. The ad also a day after the D.A.’s office placed a full-page notice in the paper declaring its pursuit of a gang injunction lawsuit against the East Side Riva street gang, in which Cardwell’s brother-in-law is said to be affiliated with.

A felony settlement conference is set for Caldwell at the Riverside Justice Center at 1:30 PM.
