3.9 Earthquake Reported Near Lake Elsinore

(AP) – A magnitude-3.9 earthquake has shaken part of Southern California.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the 3:38 p.m. quake was centered about 8 miles northwest of Lake Elsinore in Riverside County.

A California Institute of Technology spokeswoman says the quake is another aftershock of a magnitude-4.7 temblor that struck the area earlier this month.

A Riverside County sheriff’s spokesman says there have been no reports of damages or injuries.

The quake occurred at a depth of less than a mile, about 50 miles east-southeast of Los Angeles.
