La Quinta Bank Branch Inside Grocery Store Robbed
Another valley bank branch inside a grocery store was held up Wednesday in La Quinta.
Deputies confirmed the robbery at the Wells Fargo branch inside the Stater Bros. on Hwy. 111 east of Washington Street just before 4:30 p.m.
The suspect was described as a man in his early to mid 20s. He was wearing a brown shirt and brown baseball cap with sunglasses, according to Valenzuela, who noted a weapon was not used in the robbery.
This is the second grocery bank branch robbery in three days.
Monday, a robber held up the Bank of America branch inside the Albertson’s grocery store near Country Club and Monterey Ave. in Rancho Mirage.
Police have released surveillance video images in that robbery. No immediate word if the two incidents are related.
