News Producer

If you’re looking for a GREAT place to work, KESQ is looking for YOU! Our slogan is the Desert’s News Leader, but a better name would be the Desert’s Powerhouse!! We are the dominant number #1 station. Past employees have moved on to great jobs at great stations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego. Bigger markets are anxious to hire our people because we have taught them the skills major markets are looking for. Our managers are seasoned news professionals who’ve worked in major markets. Our General Manager has worked in Chicago and Philadelphia. Our News Director has worked in West Palm Beach and Miami. Our Assistant News Director has worked in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. And, our Director of Digital News has worked in San Diego, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Denver. We produce more than six hours of news on three different television stations and KESQ.com is the top television news website in our market. It’s a lot of work, but we have a lot of fun.

Right now, we are looking for producers. Our newscasts are fast-paced and packed with video. We are looking for people who are good writers, creative and willing to take chances. We have all the tools and technology you need to succeed — three live trucks, digital control room, AVID editing and the best mapping software in the business! What more are you looking for?

Here’s the kind of people we’re looking for – you must have a four-year degree in Journalism, Broadcasting or related field. We are looking for people who can write well and can out-produce the competition! You must creative and energetic. We want people who can work well independently and work effectively as part of our award winning news team. We’re NOT looking for whiners or complainers who see the glass half-empty. We want positive people with good attitudes and a solid work ethic.

This is a great news station in a great news market. Do you want to join us? Send your resume and DVD or VHS tape to: Bob Smith, News Director, KESQ-TV, 42-650 Melanie Place, Palm Desert, California, 92211. No phone calls, please.
