Dr. Bobby Bhasker-Rao

Dr. Bobby was educated at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA. He completed his residency at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center New York, NY. , furthered his education with a Fellowship at University of California, Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA., where he trained with world renowned surgeons and was a Clinical Instructor of Surgery. He currently serves as a proctor for new bariatric surgeons as well as for experienced bariatric surgeons who are interested in improving their technique.

He has performed over 600 Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Procedures (LGB Roux-en-Y) with superior outcomes far above the national average. He believes that the LGB Roux-en-Y procedure has evolved since its inception and has undergone modifications that lead to safer surgery and a better outcome for the patient. Fellowship trained surgeons, like Dr. Bobby, have perfected techniques, like over-sewing specific staple lines or closing certain defects that transfer to the patient in the form of better results.

Dr Bobby currently holds memberships in the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Medcial Association (AMA).
