Parents March To Support Families Who Can’t Afford Funerals

Dozens of parents join a candlelight marchWednesday nightto raise awareness of families unable to afford their children’s funeral expenses.

The new local group calling themselves the “Unforgettables Foundation” marched from Palm Desert Civic Center Park to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

They’ve already helped around 200 Southland families pay for funeral expenses after the sudden loss of a child.

One woman who lost her 16 year old brother in an Indio shooting recalled how the foundation helped her family when they needed it most, “My brother passed away in May. It was a gunshot wound. Obviously, the Unforgettables, no question, no nothing. They were there to help us. We didn’t care where it came from. But I learned about the organization and now I’m here and I supporting it all the way.” said Carol Barrios.

The “Unforgettables Foundation” is looking for help. To find out how you can donate, log on to www.theunforgettables.com.
