Medical Marijuana Patients Suing San Bernardino County

Medical marijuana patients are suing San Bernardino County in an effort to get the county to issue ID cards to keep them out of jail.

Unlike Riverside County, San Bernardino County forbids the Department of Health to issue ID cards to marijuana patients.

“The supervisor will maintain his position until the federal question is decided,” the office of San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry said Monday.

Marijuana patient Scott Bledsoe is suing the county. He explained, “We’re trying to force the county of San Bernardino to issue identification cards to medical marijuana patients.

“We’re also trying to force the sheriff to stop arresting legitimate marijuana patients for using and cultivating their own medical marijuana.”

One marijuana dispensary called “CAMS” is already open in Yucca Valley.
