Recession-Proof Jobs In Law Enforcement

Having a hard time finding a job?

Law enforcement officials say they need a few good men and women to protect and serve.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is now hiring sheriff trainees, correction deputies, and dispatch deputies.

Sheriff’s administrators also say the new Whitewater Detention Facility will also likely add corrections jobs.

Starting salary for these positions is between $2,800 and $4,200 monthly.

The Sheriffs Department is looking for men and women interested in staying down in the desert.

And if you’re worried about the dangers associated with law enforcement, they say they’ve got you covered.

“There’s a team concept,” says Melissa Nieburger with the Sheriff’s Department. “There’s lots of training so by the time you are out there on patrol, you’ve received extensive training and you feel confident about being able to handle yourself.”

Applicates must have good written and verbal communiction skills, officials say.
