Coalition Building In Valley Efforts To Stop LADWP Project

The Coachella Valley Coalition (CVC)announced theTurtle Club is joining the effort to put a stop to the LosAngeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)’GreenPath North transmission line project’. The project would construct power lines throughresidential andwildlife areas in Desert Hot Springs.

CVC leaders say the if the project is constructed in the Coachella Valley it will only be the first of several changes in the desert.

“If we allow Green Path North, next would be gas lines or water lines going throughour communities and desert.”

The proposed power line path starts in North Palm Springs at a new sub-station LADWP plans to build. It travels north east of Highway 62 through Desert Hot Springs then crosses Indian Avenue.
