Hotel Robbery Suspect Implicated In Sacramento Bank Job

A man suspected in a series of armed robberies at hotels in Riverside County is also a suspect in an attempted bank robbery in Sacramento.

Nicolas Corletto, 22, of Oregon was arrested Monday after an Indio Police officer spotted a vehicle described as the vehicle used in the robberies. Corletto was apparently spotted in Jeep Wrangler at the Spotlight 29 Casino’s parking lot in Coachella.

Charges connected to the hotel robberies have not yet been filed against Corletto.

Wednesday, Corletto was implicated in a Sacramento bank robbery, Indio Police reported.

Tuesday, Indio Police told News Channel 3 that Corletto was booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio on two warrants out of Oregon. Investigators and Indio Police hope to file charges in a couple of days. Indio PD is investigating that Corletto may have been behind other hold ups in California.

The first of the alleged robberies took place in Calimesa at 9:00 Sunday night at the 600 block of West Avenue L. According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department press release, workers described the man as wearing all black clothing, black facemask, gloves, and dark sunglasses.

The suspect allegedly was armed with either a shotgun or a rifle.

Seven hours later at approximately 4:20 a.m. Monday, the Comfort-Suites in Palm Desert is held up. Comfort Suites is located on Varner and Washington, north of the I-10 freeway.

At 4:30 a.m. Monday, less than fifteen minutes later, a third hotel was hit by an armed robber. The Quality Inn on Monroe Street is located approximately seven minutes away by car from the Comfort Suites.

Authorities are not saying yet whether this same suspect may be responsible for the third incident.
