Deputies Recover 56 Stolen Palm Trees In The East Valley

OASIS- Fifty-six stolen date palm trees worth more than $8,400 were recovered at a ranch in Oasis, a sheriff’s sergeant said Thursday.

The trees were recovered Wednesday at the ranch in the 8600 block of Avenue 72 when a search warrant was executed by the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, said sheriff’s Sgt. Steve DaSilva.

The search warrant was issued after deputies located several stolen trees at the ranch on Friday that had been taken from five different growers throughout the southern Coachella Valley, DaSilva said.

Riverside County Animal Control Officers assisted at the location with several large pit bulls so the trees could be recovered, according to DaSilva.

The palm trees were returned to their owners.
