Man Walking Home Struck By Car

DESERT HOT SPRINGS- A man struck by a vehicle while crossing Hacienda Avenue in Desert Hot Springs suffered a broken leg, and the driver was cited for having a suspended license, police said.

The injured man, whose name was withheld, was crossing Hacienda near Tamar Drive when a vehicle crossed over the double yellow lines to pass another vehicle and struck the man about 2 p.m. Monday, according to police.

The man was taken to hospital with a broken leg, police said.

The driver, Michael Madrid, was cited at the scene for driving with a suspended license, and his vehicle was impounded, police said.
