MENTIONED ON KESQ: Summer Shoe Drive

KDI Kares, the non-profit arm of KDI Elements, is coordinating a shoe drive this summer to obtain as many new shoes as possible to be given to school children in conjunction with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission’s Back to School Backpack Giveaway which will take place on Saturday, August 22 at the Van Buren Elementary School in Indio. This is the second year KDI Kares has conducted the “Shoebox Heroes” campaign. Last year more than 700 pairs of shoes were donated and the goal is to meet or exceed that amount this year according to Suzanne Zens, Vice Chairman of KDI Kares. Boxes of new shoes in a variety of children’s and youth sizes may be dropped off from June 15 through August 15, 2009 at any of the following locations:
