Rooms Express Furniture Stores To Close Doors
LA QUINTA -After more than a decade of serving the Coachella Valley, Rooms Express furniture closed its showrooms in La Quinta and Cathedral City. According to Linder’s Furniture, the parent company of Rooms Express, the decision is a result of the tough times and the crisis in the local housing market in the Coachella Valley.
“The national economy, especially the crisis in the local housing market in the Coachella Valley, drastically changed the economic climate and the need for showrooms in the area,” Eric Foucrier, president of Linder’s Furniture, said.
Nearly 100 employees will be affected by the decision to close the La Quinta and Cathedral city store locations. Yet, a spokesperson for the company said current employees will be offered similar positions at existing or future Linder’s Furniture locations.
According to the Orange County-based company, they have made plans to provide Rooms Express customers continued customer support and service.
Rooms Express has nearly 200,000 square feet of furniture and will have a final liquidation sale on Saturday, September 19th.
