Neighbors Keep Fire From Spreading At A Coachella Home

COACHELLA – An unattended candle caused a fire at a Coachella house Saturday, a fire captain said.

The fire at 86140 Las Flores Avenue was reported at 3:53 p.m., said Capt. Lonny Olson of the Riverside County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, Olson said.

The blaze, confined to a single room, was put out by neighbors before firefighters arrived, he said.

Damage was estimated to be $10,000, he said.
