Medical Problem Delays Gang Member’s Arraignment

INDIO – A reputed gang member from Los Angeles County should appear in an Indio courtroom,Tuesday afternoon to respond to charges connected to a murder in Desert Hot Springs.

His original hearing on Monday was delayed becuase of an “unknown medical problem.”

Eighteen year-old Anthony Magdaleno was arrested last week, accused of shooting and killing Chi Lu “Tony” Chen outside a Vons grocery store earlier this month.

Magdaleno was identified as the shooter by serveral witnesses before being arrested Thursday.

The victim, Chen, had recently moved to the valley to work at a nearby hotel.

Magdaelno is being held on one and a half million dollars bail.
