Man Charged With Assaulting Mom And Brother
COACHELLA – A 32-year-old man was in custody today on suspicion of attacking his mother and brother when she refused to give him money, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
Taurino Galindo was arrested around 6 p.m. Monday at a home in the 50000 block of Jalisco Avenue when deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance, said Sgt. Jeronimo Contreras with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators allege that Galindo assaulted his 60-year-old mother after she refused to give him money, Contreras said.
The suspect’s 38-year-old brother tried to intervene and was also attacked, he said. Both victims suffered minor injuries.
Galindo was booked into the Indio Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats against his family.
He is being at held in lieu of $25,000.
