Family Of 10 Displaced By House Fire In Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS – A family of 10 spent Wednesday night in a different home than they rented after the duplex they rented caught fire.

Just before 7p.m. the Han family visiting from San Diego had a fire going in the fire place while eating dinner at their rented duplex on the 300 block of Dominguez Road in Palm Springs. They say all of a sudden the fireplace sparked and caught the chimney on fire.

When fire crews arrived the flames engulfed the attic.

The fire caused $100,000 worth of damage. All 10 family members made it out of the house unharmed. The Palm Springs Fire Department is ruling the fire an accident. The property management company is finding the family a new home to stay in for the rest of the week.
