MURRIETA -Sheriff’s deputies cracking down on illegal off-road racing in southwest Riverside County issued 23 tickets over the weekend and cautioned 33 people against excessive noise and other violations.

The operation — which ran from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday — took place in Juniper Flats, Homeland, Valle Vista, San Jacinto, Gilman Hot Springs and Eden Hot Springs, according to sheriff’s Deputy Mike Martinez.

Two other people were cited and released on misdemeanor arrest warrants, Martinez said.
