Marion Cotillard And Quentin Tarantino To Be Honored At Film Fest
PALM SPRINGS – Marion Cotillard will be in Palm Springs next week to receive the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award for her performance in “Nine,” and Quentin Tarantino will be here to receive the Sonny Bono Visionary Award for his directorial work in “Inglorious Basterds.”
“Following a distinguished career in French cinema, Marion Cotillard has firmly established herself as a major actress in American films,” said Film Fest Executive Director Harold Matzner. “Her performance in Rob Marshall’s Nine is nothing short of breathtaking.”
He added, “Quentin Tarantino is one of the most gifted, iconoclastic filmmakers of his generation, and with Inglourious Basterds, he’s created a hugely entertaining, revisionist take on history as it might have been. For this achievement, along with his ongoing contributions to contemporary cinema, we’re delighted to be honoring him with the Festival’s Sonny Bono Visionary Award.”
The Palm Springs International Film Festival runs January 5-18, 2010.
