Person Stabbed In Desert Hot Springs; Police Search For Suspect
DESERT HOT SPRINGS -A Cathedral City man was stabbed in the neck today outside a Desert Hot Springs apartment complex, but was expected to survive, police reported.
The 23-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was attacked about 11 a.m. at 66718 Eighth St., said Sgt. Dan Bressler of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
The victim, who was with friends in a white Mercedes-Benz, got out of the car and began talking to a group of three people on the street, Bressler said. The sergeant said one of the three suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.
A motive for the attack was not released.
The victim was taken by his friends to Palm Drive and San Juan Road, where they flagged down a Riverside County fire truck that was passing by.
Medics took the man to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Bressler said.
The suspect was described as a 25- to 30-year-old man of Puerto Rican descent, wearing a plain black T-shirt, blue jeans and a ball cap, Bressler said. The man was last seen with two women, one in her 60s and another in her 20s, the sergeant said.
Anyone with information about the stabbing was asked to call police at (760) 329-6411.
