Police Arrest Suspect After High Speed Chase Through Palm Springs And Cathedral City

PALM SPRINGS -Police have arrested a suspect after a late night chase in the west end of theCoachella Valley.

Palm Springs Police say the chase started at 2:27 a.m. on Gene Autry and East Palm CanyonDrive.

It lasted around 15 minutes reaching speeds of more than 90 milesper hour before coming to an end on Avenida Diosa and Panorama in Cathedral City.

Police say they attempted to pull over a truck for speeding.

The driver refused to pull over and took off leading police on a chase through the streets of Cathedral City and Palm Springs.

Police sayThomas Duro, 31,eventually stopped but then took off on foot.

He ran about 100 feet before he was caught in the backyard of a home where he was tased by officers.

No one else was in the vehicle.

Police say Duro had a couple of outstanding warrants for his arrest.

No major injuries reported.
