Crash Closes Varner Road In Cathedral City
CATHEDRAL CITY – A one-car collision caused police officers to close off Varner Rd. Sunday evening.
Officials say a vehicle struck a power pole at the intersection of Varner Rd. and Mountain View Rd. at 6:50 p.m.
The power pole fell into the road, blocking both the westbound and eastbound sides of Varner Rd.
Cathedral City Police say Varner Rd. will remain closed between Mountain View Rd. and Date palm Dr. until approximately 9 a.m. Monday, to allow Southern California Edison to make repairs.
Southern California Edison says it was a support pole, and none of its customer lost electrical service.
Nobody was injured in the crash.
