Final Round Of Bob Hope Classic Tees Off Today

LA QUINTA -Alex Prugh and Bubba Watson share the lead entering today’s final round of the rain-delayed Bob Hope Classic golf tournament, one shot ahead of Tim Clark and Bill Haas.

Watson, one stroke behind Prugh entering Sunday’s fourth round, shot a three-under-par 69 on the Jack Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West, while Prugh was shooting a two-under-par 70 on the SilverRock Resort course.

Watson missed a chance to be alone atop the leader board entering the final round, with a double-bogey six on his final hole.

The final round will be played on the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West, where Prugh shot a six-under-par 66 Friday and Watson a four-under-par 68 Saturday. Sixteen golfers are within five shots of the lead.

Prugh, 25, is playing in his third event on the PGA Tour. He made the cut but failed to finish the Sony Open, which concluded Jan. 17, and missed the cut in the 2007 U.S. Open.

Amateur and celebrity played concluded Sunday with the team of James Hale, Steve Bissett, Gilles Roy winning in a card-off from Wednesday’s first hole with the team of

Brett Arsta, Larry Meredith, Ron Scott, both with handicap-adjusted scores of 47-under-par.

The celebrity finishing closest to the top was actor William Devane, whose team was five shots off the lead.
