Car Show Draws Hundreds To Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS -Folks got their engines revved up at the 8th annual “Doctor Sebastian George Memorial Car Show”at the tennis gardens.

Put on by the “Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association,”more than 800 antique and custom cars were on display, and the inspiration of Doctor George lives on.

“You’ll meet a lot of survivors, people who were treated by him, who will tell you they would not have survived this disease except for Dr. George,” said Peggy Bilous of the Desert Cancer Foundation. “He was a charismatic individual, who really gave people hope. And we do want to keep this alive. 15 years ago, he founded our organization, and it’s important, as a legacy to him, that we continue to serve the residents of the Coachella Valley.”

Activities included a silent auction, raffle and live music.

Over the years at the car showthe “Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association” has donated $260,000 to the Desert Cancer Foundation.
