Four People Die In Small Plane Crash

MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J. -Police say they have recovered four bodies after a small plane crash at a central New Jersey airport. A fifth person remains missing.

The crash was reported at 4 p.m. Monday at Monmouth Executive Airport, about 35 miles east of Trenton.

Capt. Tim Clayton of the Wall Township police says four bodies have been identified. The names of the victims have not been released.

An eyewitness told the Asbury Park Press that the plane appeared to break apart as it was trying to land and nose-dived into a snowy field alongside the runway.

The airport is located near the Jersey shore about 35 miles east of Trenton. Monmouth County is a largely affluent area of central New Jersey that is home to many business executives, upscale seashore communities and entertainers, including Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
