Beaumont Substitute Teacher Arrested For Assaulting Student
BEAUMONT – A substitute teacher at San Gorgonio Middle School has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a student.
The superintendent tells authorities that 35-year-old Kimberly Lavonne Fleming-McBeth grabbed the student shortly after school started and pushed her against a wall.
The student also reported that the teacher grabbed the girl’s cell phone and looked to make sure she didn’t record the incident.
Fleming-McBeth was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor child abuse. She was booked and released on a $2,500 bond.
Superintendent Dr. Barry Kayrell says that Fleming-McBeth was immediately fired, and papers have been filed to revoke her license. McBeth passed a background check prior to hiring, Kayrell says.
