Barbara Boxer Registers For Re-Election; Fiorina Campaigns

RIVERSIDE -Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina will campaign from one end of Riverside County to the other today.

The former Hewlett-Packard officer chief executive has two scheduled speaking engagements — one in Palm Desert and the other in Riverside.

Her first appearance will be at a 12:30 p.m. meeting of the Lincoln Club of the Coachella Valley at the Desert Willow Golf Resort. At 5:30 p.m., Fiorina is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Lincoln Club of Riverside County’s annual gala at the Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside.

Fiorina plans to focus her remarks on the national economy, specifically the lack of job growth, an aide said.

Fiorina is running against former Rep. Tom Campbell and Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, R-Irvine, in the Republican primary for the right to face Sen. Barbara Boxer, a Democrat, in the November election.

Boxer, meanwhile,filed her declaration of candidacy in Riverside, this morning. The three-term senator resides in Rancho Mirage.
