Two Kids Questioned In DHS ‘Cinderella’ Burglary

DESERT HOT SPRINGS -A home was burglarized today south of Desert Hot Springs, and two juveniles found in the area were detained for questioning, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Deputies responded at 9:30 a.m. to an alarm going off at a home in the 15200 block of Avenida Manzana, said Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The deputies discovered a burglary in progress and saw two juveniles running from the home, Valenzuela said. A shoe was found at the home, and authorities seized it as evidence.

Deputies set up a perimeter, and with the assistance of Desert Hot Springs police, the two youths were found nearby – one of them missing a shoe – and detained for questioning, according to Valenzuela.

Authorities will see if the shoe fits.
