Convicted Sex Offender Back In Custody
PALM DESERT-A convicted sex offender from Palm Desert is in custody.
Police tracked 66-year-old John Buford Daniel for a month using an undercover detective.
They’re not saying what specific incident led to his arrest yesterday, but he’s now accused of assault to commit rape and attempted kidnapping.
Daniel was arrested in December for failing to register as a sex offender.
He’s also been accused of several other assaults, including an alleged attack at the Rancho Mirage Home Depot.
