Suspect Crashes His Car After High-Speed Chase

A suspect led law enforcement on a pursuit today from Cathedral City to Indio, where he was taken into custody after crashing his vehicle, sheriff’s deputy said.

The suspect, Armando Brachamonte, was arrested shortly before 4 p.m. on Jackson Street near Avenue 44, said Deputy Melissa Nieburger of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Brachamonte was wanted for the March 29 bank bag robbery in front of the Bank of America in Palm Springs.

Police tell News Channel 3 they tried to pull the car over at Country Club Drive and Atrium Way, when the car sped off.

The chase brought police and the suspect down Interstate 10 through Indio, south on Jackson, where the suspect’s car crashed into another car at the intersection of Jackson and Bonita Lane, just south of the interstate.
