Rescue Crews Helping Injured Hiker On Lykken Trail

A rescue helicopter is heading to a section of the Lykken Trail in Palm Springs, where a hiker is reportedly injured.

The call came into authorities at 3pm, Friday. Police tell News Channel 3 a 67-year-old woman was hiking with her son when she severely broke her ankle. Firefighters have hiked up to the woman, and placed a splint on her ankle, which they wait for the sheriff’s helicopter to bring her down.

The trail takes you on an upward hike to nearly 400 feet, giving a traditional hiker breath-taking views of the Coachella Valley.
