Teen Killed In Early Morning Accident On Highway 111

An 18-year-old Palm Springs man died today when the car he was driving plummeted 100 feet down an embankment into the Whitewater River wash.

Timothy Jermaine Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:59 a.m. crash, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Anderson was northbound on Highway 111, west of Overture Drive, when he lost control of the 1992 Honda sedan, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Perez.

The green sedan swerved toward the right and then left before it skidded across both lanes and went 100 feet down an embankment into the Whitewater River wash, Perez said.
