Juvenile Escapee Back In Custody

The Riverside County Probation Department tells News Channel 3 a 17-year-old who escaped from Indio Juvenile Hall last Friday is back behind bars.

The teen was tracked down Monday morning in Moreno Valley.

They caught up to him when someone reported a possible prowler on Frederick Street.

He was arrested without incident.

Probation officials do not know how he got there.

According to probation officials the teen escaped juvenile hall Friday afternoon by jumping over a 12- foot wall. He and four other teens were walking from their housing units to a classroom in a minimal security area at the time of his escape.

The teen is at the juvenile center awaiting trial.
